Job Description

Role Overview

As a Legal Intern focused primarily on compliance (with an emphasis on data protection / GDPR and AI-related issues), you will play a key role in helping Qantev maintain high standards of regulatory compliance and data privacy/security. You will also provide general legal support across a variety of business functions as needed. You will work closely with internal stakeholders (product, data, engineering, operations) and contribute to the company’s risk management and compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • GDPR & Data Protection Compliance

    • Support the review, implementation and maintenance of data protection policies, procedures and documentation (privacy notices, data processing agreements, records of processing activities, etc.).
    • Assist in handling data-subject requests (access, rectification, deletion, portability, etc.) in coordination with relevant teams.
    • Help conduct or coordinate data protection impact assessments (DPIA) when required.
    • Monitor regulatory developments in data protection (especially EU GDPR and other relevant jurisdictions), and flag potential impacts for the company.
  • AI & Emerging Legal / Compliance Issues

    • Research and track emerging legal and regulatory frameworks for AI (ethics, transparency, risk, data governance) relevant to Qantev’s business.
    • Support drafting or updating internal guidance, policies or compliance recommendations for use of AI-driven solutions (in particular in the context of health / insurance data).
    • Contribute to risk assessment processes associated with AI deployments, including privacy, liability, fairness, transparency.
  • General Legal & Corporate Support

    • Assist in reviewing, drafting or summarizing commercial contracts and vendor agreements (e.g. with clients, third-party service providers, data processors).
    • Support internal legal documentation upkeep (company policies, governance documents, corporate formalities, regulatory filings as needed).
    • Provide legal research and support on ad-hoc topics (employment law, intellectual property, regulatory issues, liability, etc.).
    • Work with internal teams to raise awareness about compliance obligations (e.g. data handling, confidentiality, privacy, security).
  • Collaboration & Reporting

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, operations, data) to ensure compliance embedding throughout Qantev’s operations.
    • Assist in preparing reports or summaries for senior management about compliance status, incidents, and regulatory developments.
    • Help maintain a compliance tracker / register (data processing activities, contractual commitments, audit status).

Preferred Experience

  • Looking for an internship of 6 months starting September 2026.

  • Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a Master’s or equivalent in Law (specialising in data protection / IT law / regulatory law / corporate law) or relevant field.

  • Strong interest in data protection / privacy law (especially EU GDPR) and emerging regulatory issues around AI.

  • Excellent research and writing skills, ability to summarise complex legal/regulatory texts in clear language.

  • Rigorous, detail-oriented, proactive and able to handle confidential information responsibly.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment; comfortable collaborating with technical (non-legal) teams.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English and French (both written and spoken).

  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and take initiative within an evolving startup context.
